MICHAEL WELLER - Over the last thirty years, Michael's work has been performed on and off Broadway and at many of the major repertory theatres in the US, including the New York Shakespeare Festival, Mark Taper Forum, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Circle-in-the-Square, Seattle Repertory, La Jolla Playhouse, and Second Stage, where he was Literary Advisor.  The most notable of these plays being Spoils of War, Moonchildren, Loose Ends, Fishing, Split, The Ballad of Soapy Smith, Ghost on Fire and most recently Approaching Moomtaj, What the Night Is For and the book for Zhivago, which is preparing for a Broadway run in the near future.  His film credits include Hair, Lost Angels and the screen adaptation of E.L. Doctorow’s novel, Ragtime, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Screen Adaptation. He was also one of the writers/producers for the television series Once and Again and developed two pilots (“Our Life” and “Just Like Home”) with director Michael Pressman, with whom he is currently developing a new series called “Nassau County.”
